Directions:
From St. Louis, take I-55 south to Hwy 67.  Go south on Hwy 67 about 18 miles to the
park's entrance, which is on the left.  Follow the park road through the gate veering to
the left.  There is no obvious sign that it is the equestrian trailhead lot.  The road is steep
and curvy before you get to the trailhead lot.

Year-round.
No hunting allowed here except special managed hunts.

No day use fees.

Equine Camping:
Not allowed.
            
Trail Notes:
The trail starts by the sign, not down the service road, as you might first think.  The trail
is marked with round yellow arrow markers.  The trail corridor is easy to follow.  There
are a lot of hills, downfall, rocks, and a few creeks to cross.  The trailhead has registration
cards.  Please use them for safety reasons and also so they know how many equestrians
are using the trail.
    
          
Cart/Wagon Driving:
Not allowed.  This has a wild area so mechanized equipment is not allowed on the trail.

Water Available:
Drinking water:  None at the trailhead.  Drinking water available at the campgrounds
                  from April through Oct., but no horses are allowed in the area.
Water for horses: Creeks and streams, mostly on the west side of the trail.

Other Facilities:
A picnic table, trash cans & hitch rail.  No outhouse.

Other Activities:
Hiking, fishing, canoeing, picnicking, camping and picnicking.

Other Services:
Car care, groceries, & restaurants:  Farmington, about 15 miles south.
