Directions:
From St. Louis , at the junction of I-40 and 270, take I-270 north to Riverview Drive , exit
34.  Turn north (left) on Riverview Drive and follow for 2.9 miles (road name changes to
Columbia Bottom Rd at Larimore Rd ).  Turn right into Columbia Bottom Conservation Area
by the sign.  Follow the road for 0.4 miles to the trail head parking on right.

Trail Notes:
The trail that is open to equestrians is a gravel road through a generally flat field with crops
and ponds along each side.  A spur off the main loop leads to the confluence area with
restrooms, a water fountain, and a walkway out to the confluence overlook.  Horses are not
allowed on the walkway, but there is a hitching rail available near the restrooms.  The spur is
literally next to the paved road leading to this area, so traffic will be passing right next to you
and your horse.  The only other hazards are the potential for large flocks of waterfowl to take
flight next to you, and the trail would be very hot in the summer as there are no trees along
the trail.

Water Available:
Drinking water:   Confluence area at north end of spur
Water for the horses:   Confluence area at north end of spur – you will need to bring a
bucket with you.  You could also drive back there.

Restrooms, picnic shelters, boat ramps, fishing dock, and viewing platforms, hitching rail at
trailhead and at restrooms

Other Activities:
Hiking, fishing, boating, canoeing, dog training (in season), picnicking, hunting, and
photography.
