Directions:
Fire Tower Trailhead: From Springfield, take Hwy 125 south to the town
of Bradleyville and go 8.8 miles more to the fire tower road. Turn right and
follow to the trailhead/campground.

Moderate. The Fire Lookout Tower Trailhead is the only one suitable for horse trailers.

Yes, camping allowed at the Lookout Tower Tailhead and primitive dispersed camping.
Trail Notes:
This trail has steep rocky hills and downfall to negotiate. I don't normally rate a trail
because what I consider difficult, may not be to you, but mixing the length, steep &
rocky nature of this trail, with the limited water sources available, I would definitely
consider this trail difficult. During the dry season, there may be no water at all other
than a couple of stagnant pools of water left in the dry creek beds. At this trail, you
also have to watch out for stinging scorpions as well as rattlesnakes and copperheads.
Yes, a difficult trail, but from what I've seen and also heard about it, it's beautiful and a
must ride for anyone who likes a challenge and has a sense of adventure.

Not allowed. This is a wilderness area so mechanized equipment is not allowed on the trail.
