Directions:  
From Joplin, take Hwy 71 north for aprox. 35 miles to Hwy V, turn west.
Drive9 miles to Hwy FF and turn north.  Go 2.9 miles on Hwy FF, which
will turn to gravel and change it's name to NW 80th Road.  Turn right on
County Road NW 100th.  Follow for 1.3 miles to the trailhead on the left.

6 miles of trail, plus additional gravel road mileage.

Season:
Open May 15 to Aug. 30

Fees:
No day use fees.

Equestrian Camping:
Not allowed.

Trail Notes:
The trail corridor is east to follow and the terrain is mostly low rolling prairie.
There are a couple of creeks to cross, but nothing really hazardous.  You
might get to see some Prairie Chickens.  This is one of the few places left
in Missouri where these endangered birds still live.  There is a flock of
about 75 of them here.

Drinking Water:  Not at the trailhead, but is available at the lake access.
Water for horses:  Ponds and creeks along the trail.

Other Facilities:
Hitch rails available at the trailhead, toilet facilities and trash cans are
available at the lake access.

Other Activities:
Hiking, biking, picnicking, canoeing, boating, non-equestrian camping,
fishing, and an archery range.
