Miles of Trails:
10 mile loop.

Season:
Year-round for both the trail and the campground.

Fees:
No day use fees.  Camping fee is $23 per night, minimum stay of 2 nights on the weekend if
you reserve you campsite.  There is an additional $8.50 fee, plus $5.25 to change or cancel
your reservation if you reserve your campsite.  There is no “basic camping fee” for
equestrians since all sites have water and electric, even if you won’t be using the electric.  No
reservations accepted November – March.

Equestrian Camping:
There are 10 sites, with one dedicated to the campground host.  Of the remaining 9 sites, 2
are back-in and 7 are pull-through.  All have water and electric, along with high-line poles, a
lantern post, picnic table, and fire ring.  The equestrian campground also has 2 manure pits, a
shower house, restroom, and a picnic shelter.  One of the camp sites is marked as
handicapped accessible – it is the one closest to the shower house and toilet.  Campground
gates close at 10 pm so make sure to arrive before then.

Trail Notes:
In some areas the trail can be steep and very rocky, while some sections of the trail follow
old forest roads.  The connector from the trail head to the loop is brand new and runs along
the creek beside the campground.  In periods of lots of rain this portion of the trail will likely
become muddy or even flood.  Beware of an old woven wire and barbed wire fence
between the trail and the campground.  Trail passes through glades in some areas, which are
fragile, so please stay on the designated trail.  There is a spur connector to the Ozark Trail,
but equestrians are not allowed on the spur or on the Ozark Trail. Wild hogs are known to
be in this area.  Due to the trail being closed for approximately 5 years, although the trail is
well marked and easy to follow, it is very overgrown in places.  There is also a lot of
downfall on either side of the trail from the tornados that contributed to the trail being closed
for so long.  The new campground is built over the top of a portion of the old trail.

Cart/Wagon Driving:
Not allowed.  This is a wild area so mechanized equipment is not allowed on the trail.

Water Available:
Drinking Water:   April – October in the campground.  None at the day use area.
Water for horses:  A small creek, or available in the campground April - October.

Only the restroom and shower house in Loop 3 are open from November – April.

Other Facilities:
Hitching rail, vault toilet, & picnic shelter at the day use trail head.
Available April – October are a dump station, laundry, woodlot, and campground store.
Free Wi-Fi available at the store.
