Our Truck and Trailer Before and After

Our truck and trailer are 1970's models that were looking a bit rough. Being fans of
the older cars and trucks, we decided to totally overhaul and rebuild both instead of
trying to buy either or both new. Luckily, Hank is a great all around handyman and
was able to do something about that. Here are some before and after pictures of our
camping accommodations.
Our Chevy Truck was originally mine when Hank and I got married. It was beat up, rusty,
and an ugly yellow color. But it ran great! These pictures are various parts of it when it was
stipped down and being worked on. The young man helping is our son Jeremy and Hank's
the one lying under the truck bed.

The horse trailer was also mine before Hank and I met. Thankfully it looked awful but it was
basically sound. Hank repainted, rewired from scratch, built the chuck box and other
exterior boxes, and finished the interior which includes slide out saddle racks. He managed
to do a lot with it considering it's the old narrow and short style trailer. The only thing he
didn't do himself was rework the underneath stuff like the springs. We had that done for us.
This summer (2006) we had to sell our trailer. All of the horses decided they weren't going
to load into it anymore. It was one of the old time small trailers, and Majic often bumped his
head whenever he unloaded from it. I guess he decided he'd had enough of it and started to
refuse to go in. Next thing we knew, Casper did too. We decided instead of trying to force
it, and maybe get one of us hurt, we'd just sell it and work to get another, bigger trailer.
We're probably going to look for a newer stock trailer with living quarters in it for Hank to
refurbish for us again.
