Large Truck or Trailer First Aid Kit for you and your horse:
Fill this with a more detailed list of stuff.  A fish tackle box works great for storing it all in.  I
store all my stuff together, but I store the equine-only supplies in a box marked as such, in the
bottom of the box.  That’s in case a child or someone who knows nothing about first aid is the
one that has to treat you if you get hurt.

Small supply of over the counter medicine:  Benedryl, Tylenol, Tums, etc.
Small supply of your prescription medicine if any are critical for you to have.

Most of this stuff can be found in Walmart, any sporting goods or
camping supply stores, or sold through the boy scouts.

This list of supplies will all fit easily in a fanny pack and should anything happen where you find
yourself on foot and separated from your horse, these little things can make a BIG difference in
your comfort and safety if you have to walk back to the trailer or stay overnight one night out on
the trail.  But they won't do you any good if they are on your horse and not with you.

Remember, being separated from your horse doesn't necessarily mean you fell off of him or he
threw you.  You can become separated from your horse for a multitude of reasons and,
especially if you are riding in a big area, could find yourself spending the night alone in the forest.
This is a good thing to carry with you at all times, but obviously not as crucial if you're riding
your local 5 mile trail.

If you don't like riding with a fanny pack on, another possibility for keeping all these supplies with
you is a multi-pocketed vest.  You can even get them in mesh for hot weather.  These are often
located in the fishing section of most sporting good stores or departments.
