Directions:  
Shooting Star Trailhead:  From Columbia take Hwy 63 south to Hwy 163, turn
west.  Follow Hwy 163 to Bonne Femme Church Road, turn west.  Drive .3 of a
mile to the trailhead.
Gan's Creek Trailhead:  From Columbia, take Hwy 163 south for about 4 miles.  
Hwy 163 will veer to the left.  Follow left and continue on Hwy 163 for about a half
mile to Rock Quarry Road.  There will be a Gans Creek Wild Area sign.  Turn left.  
Trailhead is on the right.
Wagon Wheel Trailhead:  From Columbia, take Hwy 163 south for 3.0 miles to
Hwy AC (E. Nifong), turn east.  Follow Hwy AC for 1.7 miles to S. Bearfield Road,
turn south.  Drive 1.6 miles to the trailhead.

Miles of Trails:
5 mile multiple loop.

Season:
June 1 through October 31.
Also closed during wet conditions.  Call the Trail Condition Hotline at 1-573-442-2249

Fees:
No day use fees.  

Equestrian Camping:
Not allowed.

Trail Notes:
Before riding this trail, you need to call the above listed Trail Condition Hotline.  They
do close trails temporarily due to wet conditions.  At the Gan's Creek Trailhead, there
is a wooden bridge that has limited access, so that's not the best trailhead to start from.
The terrain can be steep and rocky, there are water crossings and downfall to negotiate,
but you will be rewarded with beautiful vistas to enjoy.  

Cart/Wagon Driving:
Not allowed.  This is a wild area so mechanized equipment is not allowed on the trail.

Water Available:
Drinking Water:  None available.
Water for horses:  Creeks along the trail.

Other Facilities:
Benches and informational boards at the trailheads, but nothing else at the equestrian
trailheads.  Many other facilities located in the non-equestrian areas of the park.

Other Activities:
Hiking, biking, cross country skiing, backpacking, wildlife study and photography.
