Quick Tips & Fast Facts

                                          Quick Tips:

One essential item that everyone should carry with them when horseback riding
is  good pocket knife.  A pocket knife can be useful for a variety of situations,
everything from cutting your horse loose if tangled in a vine on the trail, to cutting
up your "on the trail" lunch, to protecting yourself in an emergency.  For ease of
use and quick access, it's best if you can have it fastened to your belt with a clip or
in your pocket, not in your horse's saddle bags.

Fast Facts:

Trails that go through areas that are designated as "Wild Areas" or "Wilderness
Areas"  are harder to maintain than other trails.  These designated areas do not
allow motorized equipment  to be brought in at all.  This not only means obvious
items like ATV's and chain saws, but also less obvious things like a wheelbarrow
or small cart.  This makes it really hard to haul anything into or out of these places
and that is one of the reasons why you will find these trails less maintained overall.
