Endure Fly Spray
By Lalita Creighton
I have been using Repel-X for years, but tried a bottle of the Endure after hearing how well it
worked. It definitely repels flies better, at least during the ride. I don't typically use fly sprays
at home since I use the fly predator wasps for control, and don't have a lot of flies to deal
with. Therefore, I can't comment on the claim that the Endure can last up to 2 weeks.
However, while out on the trail, the Endure is worth every penny even though it is expensive.
Several catalogs and tack stores carry this product. Cost ranges from $14-$18 per quart.

Laura's note: I agree with Lalita about how well it lasts during a ride. We also use Endure
on our horses. But I don't find it to last much more than 24 to 48 hours on our horses in the
pasture. Generally, we spray them down before riding, and if we ride the next day, find
ourselves having to spray them down again before the ride because the big brown horseflies
are back. I tried spraying them down one Monday morning to see how it would last on the
horses in the pasture. The horseflies were back on Tuesday and the deer and houseflies were
back on the horse's legs by Wednesday.
