Dennis Haight
Dennis Haight, from Montgomery City, Missouri is a dedicated horseback rider. He is
fortunate to get to do more of what so many of us would love to do... spend a lot of time in
the saddle. Dennis, who is a member of the Missouri Equine Council's Ride Missouri
Program, is the first member to surpass the 2500 hour level and be well on his way to the
next level of 5000 hours. He will soon receive an engraved trophy buckle for the 2500 hour
level award.  Dennis divides his riding time between his two quarter horses, HB Special
Dude Two (Bud) and Dee Town Clown (Dee). His horses are well trained and experienced,
having been ridden in many different places and circumstances. He has a lot of area around
his home to ride, and even works cattle off of his horses, but he also gets to travel to a lot of
different places to ride. Some of the places here in Missouri he's been to include the Mark
Twain National Forest areas of Swan Creek, Berryman, Cedar Creek, Kaintuck Hollow
and Paddy Creek; some of our Conservation Areas including Lead Mine, Ranacker, Daniel
Boone, and Rudolf Bennett; State Park Trails include Cuivre River, and Lake of the Ozarks,
and many of the Commercial Trail Rides in the state including Whispering Pines, Panther
Creek, Big Creek, Cross Country, and Golden Hills, just to name some of the places he's
been. On top of all that, he and his horses have also taken part in many parades, and
hoof-a-thons. Lastly, he has also travelled and ridden in several other states besides
Missouri including Arkansas, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado and Illinois.  Besides
being a member of the Missouri Equine Council, Dennis is also a member of Show-Me
Back Country Horseman, The Quarter Horse Association, and President of Rough Country
Trail Riders.
